In this golden autumn with laurel fragrance wafted by cool breeze, SHGIC under DSIC has named and delivered her first 64900 DWT crude oil carrier constructed for COSCO Shipping on Sep.30. This ship was named Tianhong Constellation. CSIC GM Sun Bo, COSCO Shipping DGM Ding Nong, CCS Vice President Sun Feng, COSCO Shipping Energy Transport Co., Ltd. GM Liu Hanbo, and DSIC GM and SHGIC Chairman Yu Fengping were present at the ceremony. Tripartite representatives on behalf of COSCO Shipping, CSOC and SHGIC under DSIC signed the ship delivery and acceptance protocols respectively.
Upon end of the naming ceremony, Sun Bo embarked on the ship for a visit with distinguished guests, speaking highly of its construction quality. He wished SHGIC under DSIC would continue her effort to achieve even greater breakthrough in shipbuilding field, and that the two major groups could further enhance communications based on the existing good cooperation so as to make new contribution to realizing the target of powerful ocean nation together.
Tianhong Constellation is the first crude oil carrier constructed by SHGIC under DSIC, and this is also the first cooperation between SHGIC and COSCO Shipping Oil Tanker Transport Co., Ltd., which is of great importance for SHGIC to realize transformation and upgrade. The successful construction of this ship has cohered wisdom and sweat of each designer, builder, project team member, CCS surveyor and ship owner’s supervision team member. During her construction, SHGIC working staff have overcome difficulties and withstood pressure to accomplish the milestones one after another with assiduous study and lean management, which has won high praise from the shipowner.
